Getting a weird memory limit fatal error when upgrading to Wordpress 2.8.1?

This error has been popping up more with the latest update it seems (or maybe I just noticed it since I received one):

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted...

Here’s a fix that worked for us on a few sites we maintain. Wordpress forum member Jared.tm posted:

In wp-settings.php at line 13, increase from 32M to 64M!

Wordpress 2.8 upgrades

Wordpress 2.8 is out and we are working our way through upgrades on all our sites. So far it’s going very smoothly – just like Chet Baker, who its named after. The new theme browser/installer is very cool, but theme tweaks are clearly going to be a problem moving forward. Re-worked stylesheets should probably be stored outside the theme directories. in the future with the themes pulling from this other directory. One thing that is bugging me is that the quick access function drop down in the top right is more heavily rounded than the “View Site” button on the left side. I like the more square-ish look and hope they change the quick access dropdown to match.

New site

It’s been a long time in coming, but MS now has a new site. We’ve also upgraded to Wordpress 2.5.1. The new site is a modified version of Olive Green by Bob.
